Description
The Ride Leader Course is for anyone who wants to lead groups of riders out on the road. Whether you're a club rider ready to take on Sunday morning rides, a school teacher, or a youth worker, this course builds the skills and confidence to lead safely on roads and cycle paths up to 50 miles.
You'll cover ride preparation, group management, risk management, route planning, and good practice guidelines, all taught by our team of experienced tutors and coaches at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester.
What does the course include?
The course blends online learning with an assessed day in Manchester:
- 30 days' access to the e-learning platform, with 4 hours of directed learning
- One full day of expert classroom and on-the-bike tuition, including a practical assessment
Altogether, you're looking at one assessed day, half a day of online learning, plus whatever time it takes to complete your first aid course beforehand.
What do I need to register?
- You'll need to be at least 18 years old
- You should be a confident, competent recreational road rider
- A valid Emergency First Aid at Work certificate (or equivalent) is required
- You'll need Ride membership
