DiSE Camp 2026 – January 16th-20th 2026
Every January, students on the DiSE programme at Manchester Cycling Academy have the opportunity to travel to the Costa Blanca in Spain for an unforgettable experience to get an insight into how world class teams prepare for racing and take part in educational seminars and workshops that are essential to the DiSE programme.
Join us to watch some of the world’s biggest names in Cyclocross, including Fem van Empel, Cat Ferguson, Tom Pidcock, and Mathieu van der Poel as they compete in the UCI Cyclocross World Cup in Benidorm.
The Costa Blanca DiSE Camp runs alongside our longer Costa Blanca Training Camp and Race Weekend, which include 4-night and 7-night options focused on road riding in the stunning mountains just inland from the coast.
If you are a second year student the DiSE Camp costs just £150 as we can subsidise your trip. All you will need to pay extra for are your flights and to be up to date with your DiSE studies to be able to travel. We’re constantly tracking fares and return flights to and from Alicante are often under £80 if booked early.
If you are a first year student then the cost is £399 per person based on sharing a double or triple room.
There is also an option for you to stay longer so that you can ride with the rest of the groups on the training camp. If you are wanting to stay longer, we suggest adding days on to the end of the trip. Please contact us directly so we can arrange this for you.

A Trip That Supports Your DiSE Studies
During the trip, students take part in educational seminars and workshops that are essential to the DiSE programme. You’ll gain insight into life inside a professional training camp – something very few young riders ever experience.
The base for the trip is Hotel Cap Negret in Altea, a 4★ sports hotel on the Costa Blanca that plays host to mens and women’s World Tour teams such as: Bahrain Victorious, Intermarché–Wanty, Lotto–Dstny, Laboral Kutxha and many more.
You’ll sit on the next table to the pro teams at mealtimes, see what they are choosing from the buffet, socialise with them in the communal areas and have an amazing collection of water bottles by the end of your trip.
Even if you don’t consider yourself a road rider, this is a valuable chance to broaden your understanding of your sport and enjoy time away with your fellow DiSE course mates

I’m not a road rider, is this for me?
Of course! This is an amazing chance to get away with your course mates and enjoy some sunshine. The DiSE camp runs alongside two other camps with different levels of rides taking place each day. The three rides listed above are easily doable for all types of rider. If you have done any kind of regular training in any kind of bike discipline, then you will be able to ride the routes above. In case of injury then we can find you a job in the support team refilling bottles and handing out nutrition!
However, if you are a BMX rider and would like to continue with your training in the warm weather, if we have sufficient numbers of BMX riders, we can arrange with a nearby BMX centre for you to attend there each day at the times listed above in the company of one of our BMX coaches.
Fundamentally, this is an education camp, but from feedback we have received, we know that you will all want to ride your bikes in the sunshine. So if, it is the case that we also get a group of MTB riders then it is also possible to include MTB rides into the itinerary also.

Altea isn’t far from the Calpe and Benidorm and is a popular destination for cycling training camps and holidays as the climate is warmer than the UK. Our cycling training camps in Spain mainly take place in the cycling off season.
The autumn, winter and spring seasons are all popular times for cycling training camps in Spain as the number of rainy, wet days are considerably less than in England. Check out the fantastic Epic Road Rides website for loads of inspiration of where to go next.
